“You have good brains. You must keep using your Intelligence and, most importantly, work on improving your skills. Don’t ever be under the impression that you’ve achieved a lot. Keep a growth mindset,” the grandfather said.
“Don’t work for proving yourself in life, instead always work for improvement,” Grandmother added.
One day, I was sitting with my grandparents. Somehow, we started discussing one topic. I asked them, “even though I am working so hard to achieve and proving so many times to myself, why can’t people understand my efforts?”
Then my grandparents said these words.
We always try to face fewer challenges in life, want to achieve things quickly. Once reached, we settle ourselves in that thing. I got a job; now I’m settled or earned this much in business, now I’m happy.
We always want to prove ourselves for something, like we want to look best and that’s why we work, or maybe we want to prove ourselves to be successful in front of others. But very rarely or rather never, we think about improving ourselves for the better. We don’t work to change ourselves for doing better and getting better.
We have seen that success is visible. We are attracted to people who have achieved something. But how and what efforts they took, their struggles and their continuous measures to improve themselves are often ignored. Success doesn’t always matter; it’s all about the journey. We must not stop being travelers on this journey.
We were taught to study and earn grades in schools. That’s where everyone tried to prove themselves, but hardly anyone did something for passion.
People get satisfied after proving themselves at one point. They feel happy if they do something even less than their potential, but that’s not the real win. Real success in life is continuous growth and continuing growth efforts. Most people find it offensive to work for improvement. They find themselves misjudged when someone asks them to improve. This mindset which rejects the need for improvement is killing growth. It restricts achievement.
We always need to push ourselves through our limits to achieve. We always need to create a path for improving ourselves.
So, dear all, let’s keep improving our mindset. Believing in ourselves and achieving through improvement is more important than just proving ourselves with Intelligence.
The world needs improvements: it needs corrective actions and flexibility in mindset. This will undoubtedly help you achieve more with the help of the Intelligence we have.
